八慢

The eight kinds of pride, māna, arrogance, or self-conceit, [lang id =1028]如慢 though inferior, to think oneself equal to others (in religion); [lang id =1028]慢慢 to think oneself superior among manifest superiors; [lang id =1028]不如慢 to think oneself not so much inferior among manifest superiors; [lang id =1028]增上慢 to think one has attained more than is the fact, or when it is not the fact; [lang id =1028]我慢 self-superiority, or self-sufficiency; [lang id =1028]邪慢 pride in false views, or doings; [lang id =1028]憍慢 arrogance; [lang id =1028]大慢 extreme arrogance.
